I discovered on my bank account a withdrawl for $29.95 from a soucre I did not know. When I called the number, a woman named "Tee" answered. Her ID number is 19756. I asked what is the company and she would not give me an answer until I gave her my name and "pin" number. She actually demanded a lot of personal information from me.
I repeatedly asked her who she was, who with, what did they sell, etc., only to be asked more information about me! I had no "pin" number and I explained I didn't know anything about this transaction. She put me on hold for several minutes. She returned to the phone telling me she had no information on me whatsoever. Clearly they had my banking information.
AFter that, I was furious. WHO are you? Over and over. Finally, under the threat that I would notify the FBI, she told me they were a "membership organization for privacy issues". What privacy issues? She then told me the money was taken out for a "free" credit report. I told her I never requested a credit report from anyone. She argued with me that either myself or someone else requested it. I repeatedly told her "no". I was becoming very angry and frustrated.
I asked her if this was "free", why was I charged? She told me it was past the timeline for a "free" request, so I was charged. Again, I told her that if they did not refund the money I would notify the FBI. She told me they would refund me, and this was followed with an email stating they would refund.
