When I made an online purchase a pop-up came on with an offer to get "free" savings rewards. I clicked yes and the next month I was billed $14.95 for this savings2go plan. I didn't receive any membership ID, so I couldn't even see what these "rewards" were.By the time I got my credit card statement, they already billed me for another month.
Sometimes I just pay the credit card bill without looking at all the charges, especially the smaller amounts like $14.95. I just happened to be looking at the bill for a credit that should have been issued when I notice this SB*Savings2go charge. I disputed these charges with the credit card company, called Savings2go at 1-800-448-1944 and canceled this so-called membership. It was lucky that I saw these charges before they got a chance to get any real money out of me.
Beware of all these types of "reward" programs that prey on us via the Internet.
