Cumberland Enterprises, Brett Siler
Wasted Candidates time, scheduled four people in the same time slot, refused to answer questions, is a huge scam

I was offered an interview with this company, they were marketing Human Resources towards new graduates, and I went ahead and traveled for an interview. Four to six people were scheduled at the same time as me, I waited quite a while obviously for a chance to interview, and it was a waste of my time sitting there. The average person waited at least one hour.

He asked "How would you rate your communication skills on a scale of one to ten" and I said "I don't believe in rating, I don't believe one person is necessarily rated higher than another, we're all equal after all.". He said "That's not a real answer and I need something real.". So, I finally gave in, and just gave a number. The rude behavior, the gestures, the tone, and the body language extruded through him. After thirty questions, some of which I honestly told him that ratings weren't real, that people can't be rated against eachother - It's just my philosophical foundation and has nothing to do with interviewing and should not disqualify me. I told him I'm being as genuine as I can. I'm not going to give you answers I do not faithfully trust as being accurate.

After thirty questions, he sort of rumbled, and I said "Now, let me ask a few questions, if I may. What is the starting salary." He shot back sharply and with cunning quickness "You're not allowed to ask questions, you can ask questions further into the interview process, you went to college you should be able to understand a starting salary." So, I said something like "I sat through twenty minutes of your questions and you're not allowing one question, I waited for an hour in the lobby, do you realize how disrespectful this attitude is?"

He began to make gestures toward me like he was going to make another verbal attack and potentially move physically towards me, so I took my briefcase and began to leave immediately, I opened the private door to his office, and he quickly followed. He said, "Call the Police (to the secretary), Get out of my office!" While I was walking out already, before he ever said get out, I said "You treat everyone like slaves, you schedule several people at one time, you treat them like slaves, and I said to them all, do you want to be slaves?" I went home and got a call from the Minnetonka police with an order to stay off his premises. I have never been so angry after a job interview, he mocked me during everything, and moved towards me at the end physically. I never in any way physically or tried to cut him down UNTIL he pretty much told me how to act. I don't allow others to tell me how to act.

His name is different, he presented his name as Brent, but on Linkedin and other sources his name is Brett Siler. His real name may be Brett Siler or John Doe for all I know. I then Googled the name and found allegations of scams across the midwest. All the alleged scams, could have been done by other Brett Siler's, but overwhelming similar trends of operation, management, and how they handled business suggest it is the same person.

I did research afterwards, I found him listed as the president of the company on the website LinkedIn:

My intuition is that this guy is running a scam, a large barely legal company, that destroys it's employees. If you get a call from the very attractive receptionist, who can't tell the color of buildings when I got lost, obviously not very intelligent, DO NOT GO TO THE INTERVIEW. She didn't know there were two similar light tan with brown trim buildings. Wow, an airhead?

Ask whether they provide health insurance, ask what the salary is over the phone. Then wait for them to hang up.
