I don't want to get too specific because I don't want this barn to know who I am. I, as well as many other people, have had a horse at J and A ranch for a while. The owners have got to be the worst caretakers I have ever seen! No exaggeration!!! I want to prevent anyone from unknowingly boarding there horse there. From one horse owner to another. I can tell you that if you google J and A Ranch Franksville Wisconsin you will find reviews that people have posted on sites such as yahoo local and city search. When I found those, I thought that if people read those first maybe they would see that I am not the only one.
My horse was there too long. (Actually even one day is too long.) The Humane society has been called at least four times. Once by me. I was told that although it wasn't the way this humane officer would have her horse treated, they were not breaking the law in any way so she could do nothing. She said as long as they have water, there is nothing she could do. So... I just waited. I figured that I couldn't be the only person they've done this to and I was right. They have been advertising on craigslist for their barn and I have been posting warnings on there so people would know the facts. I feel bad for every horse that is still there. If I can steer just one person away from there all of this is worth it. The bottom line is... Don't board your horse at J and A Ranch. You will regret it. I speak from experience.
