My daughter was admitted to White Horse Ranch on 05/02 at a rate of $135 per day for treatment. My insurance would not cover her stay even though White Horse Ranch assured us beforehand that they had pre-authorization. I called my insurance the next day to see why they had changed the approval and they told me that White Horse Ranch HAD NOT submitted anything to request pre-authorization. They had lied about the pre-authorization!!!
Later, after researching the pre-authorization number given by White Horse Ranch with my insurance company they told me that the number given was not an authorization number. They said that the authorization numbers they assign contain letters and not just a string of numbers. After some further investigating by the claims department they found that the number given was a reference number assigned to a phone call that was made to them using their automated system.
