A few months ago, Backpacker started sending me its magazines even though I had not subscribed to it. (And I have NEVER had a subscription to Backpacker or any other magazine.) They also started billing me for it. I was furious, so I did not pay for the bills. After less than 5 magazines, they stopped sending me the magazines but kept sending me the bills. I just opened the latest bill and they are billing me for more than 5 issues and demanded that I remit the payment immediately.
Please DO NOT subscribe to Backpacker or buy its magazines as it is an unscrupulous company. The bill did not include any phone number for me to call back or email address of the person who signed the bill. If anyone knows where else I can report this incident and make known to others about Backpackers's crooked methods, please reply to this post.
