These bastards called me up one night, claiming they were from my credit card company. Telling me that I had qualified for a sweepstakes and that I had won a free watch. I wasn't thinking properly that night, as I had been occupied by something at the time. This loss of thought would become my undoing.
They asked what kind of credit card I had, which I thought was weird since they were supposedly from the company. Stupidly, I had told them and went along with everything they said.
They had asked for my credit card number to verify that it was me. Then they claimed that I had to subscribe for these magazines that they offered.
They said that I was to pay for the magazines, around $35 a month. Which is a VERY high price for subscriptions. Especially since it's PER month. And I constantly recieve calls from them.
Long story short, I actually DID recieve a 3 out of 4 magazines. However, 2 of them weren't even the ones that they said I was to recieve. Furthermore, they were very old issues of them, all torn up and everything.
I had not recieved a letter or catalog in the mail, which they had said they would send so that I could change the subscriptions (which was also weird to me). Nor have I recieved their watch that I was told I would get.
Luckily, I use a debit card, and I don't have much in there. Enough for one months pay, in case they were legit in sending the things they claimed they would. I don't intend to pay anymore, due to how they have not kept up their end on the bargain.
After reading all the other complaints about Consolidated Media Services, I feel fortunate that these bastards can't take anything out of my account. But I have learned my lesson.
