I bought a Car from Ugly Duckling, and settled for the lowest $ I could get back from them just to finally end the whole thing and had to sign a contract of disclosure (whatever it is meaning I would not give all the details) so I can't go into the whole thing, but let me tell you-I was ripped off so bad... My car was worth $3000.00 and I was having to pay $14,0000. The miles were set back and the car was just barely holding together (salvaged).
I just want the other people who are being screwed by them, and there are alot (my roomate even had a buick from them that was so bad, he couldn't stand it-he got a hammer and just beat that car to death-which is not a good idea, he lost all his money, but just another example...) I want to let everyone know what I had to do to get just the minimum $ back... I wrote a letter explaining the whole situation and w/all paperwork enclosed, and sent it to the nearest DMV. The DMV puts an investigator on the case who looks through all the past records he can find from the VIN#, if he can find anything, he contacts Ugly Duckling to pressure them into getting the $ back to you. You may not get any extra for all you time, pain, and suffering-which I KNOW is worth alot-but you can most likely squeeze the bare minimum out of them and MAKE them take the piece of crap car you recieved back to their junkyard (to sell to another poor, innocent car buyer). And save yourselves-don't buy from them if you haven't yet, if you have make them let you out of their trap-get your $ back!!! Good luck!!! (and I mean this-these people are rude to top it all off)...
