Lynn Adams is an abusive dog handler and is most likely a drunk and an alcoholic. She abuses the dogs and the business she runs is a fraud as they overcharge for things she invents in her own head. Do not ever send your precious dog (s) to her ranch. You may not see your dog again.
I sent my 2 puppies to her ranch in September and had the most horrific experience. It took me a little while to figure out that Lynn Adams (the owner) most likely suffers from a mental disorder and from my research on her, I found out that other people have had the same experiences and in some cases, they had far worse outcomes.
Lynn was very good at selling her business as the "busiest, most exclusive dog boarding facility with elite LA clientelle". The bottom line is that she is totally lying. I tried to schedule a visit to the ranch before I sent my 2 puppies there. She cancelled the first visit because she said the exterminator was coming that day and couldn't be rescheduled. That was the first red flag because when I eventually went to the ranch, her house (which is in the middle of nowhere on dirst roads) was filled with dog feces and urine all over the house and when I asked her about it, she said she didn't know what it was from because no dogs are allowed in her main house.
She turned on the vaccum cleaner in front of me and tried to vacuum up 10 piles of urine and feces. There was little furniture in the house and she rushed me out to the back to the dog house and dog runs. The dog house was a garage filled with dog crates and freshly washed dog beds which in hind site was done just for my visit given the state of her house. The outside dog yards looked big enough for a lot of dogs. She had 7 dogs there and told me that the rest of her "staff" was out on a hike with another 20 dogs and would be back in 10 minutes.
Well-3 hours later I was still there trying to see how my puppies acclimated to their new surroundings and her "staff" never showed up with the rest of the dogs. Given the pictures that were sent to me while my dogs were there, no other dogs were ever there in the first place. She lies about the amount of people (if any) who work for her and she lies about how many clients she has.
The first few days of my puppies' stay went fine. Lynn sent e-mails praising my dogs saying how well they were doing (similar to others who have posted complaints). 2 days before my puppies were coming home, I started to get e-mails about my 6 month old sweet golden retriever saying that Lynn was horrified at her behavior because she wouldn't come to the dog house for her meal. Lynn told me that if it weren't 20 degrees outside, she would have left my dog outside for not listening.
My stomach dropped because my puppy is a very nervous dog around scary situations so I knew that something must have been wrong. Lynn told me that my puupy wouldn't be allowed to eat until she learned to follow directions like the rest of the pack. Was she kidding, I thought? There she was with my 2 puppies and the 6 month old who was scared to death was being threatened by a lunatic who was supposed to be "caring" for her while I was out of town.
That's when the mentally unstable Lynn made a huge turn for the worse and started sending me crazy and incohesive e-mails. She basically told me that my 6 month old retriever was the devil and if she didn't learn to shape up then she wouldn't be welcome back at the ranch. You can imagine my horror as I realized I was dealing with a psychotic dog handler who had my dogs at her ranch in the middle of nowhere while I was still out of town. I could only imagine the abuse my puppy was enduring and I just wanted to get my dogs home.
The last 2 days of their stay were awful for me as I feared the worst. Lynn finally showed up at my house with my puppies and the site was horrifying. My 8-month old puppy ran to me immediately and the 6 month old could hardly move and I had to carry her out of the van. I barely spoke to Lynn and when I got back into my house, I noticed that my 6 month old golden retriever had dried diarhhea all over her body, face and ears.
I spent 2 hours trying to cut it out of her fur as I sat on the floor with her. My dog didn't leave my side for 2 weeks, she was so distraught. I have too many crazy e-mails from Lynn to post on this site but for anyone who wants to see the level of her craziness, here's a small example:
Lynn, in her dilusional account of what happened when she dropped my dogs off and put their training leashes on, wrote:
"Gentle leaders/nose harnesses are intended to be used for 2 weeks max as a training DEVICE TEMPORARILY; more if need be but not much. Talk about PUNISHMENT, instead of simply LOVING Fred and Ethel when they came home you snapped this on them and started dragging them around the block instead of taking them home and getting re-acquainted - they didn't need harassing nor exercise at all.
You maybe thought this was good - you have to be kidding, this was the worst welcome, totally not what they needed. You are so inadept about your own dogs I can't even begin to tell you. Why they turned away from you and looked to me away from you totally made sense. I would have helped you had you been straightforward and honest and OBJECTIVE - you weren't, you are not. You have PRIDE where it means nothing, you have AUTHORITY when you are clueless, you have DISRESPECT when you should be butt kissing.
You are unbalanced and illogical with your dogs.

The fact of the matter was that my dogs were clearly scared and I let them relieve themselves before entering my house. At no time did I "drag" them down the street and at no time did either of my dogs want to stay with her in the van. It was the complete opposite. This is when I truly realized how psychotic this woman is and how dangerous it is for anyone to send their dogs to stay with her.
Here was my response:
"For your information Lynn... My dogs were taken directly inside after they went to the bathroom and clung to me for hours while I rubbed their bellies. I spent 2 hours cutting dried diarrhea out of Ethel's hair and was very interested to see that it was on her face and ears too. I need to ask my vet how that would get on her face unless you can tell me. And for your information, my trainer told me that the gentle leaders are great to use for as long as possible.
There are different approaches and views to things and I'm sure you can appreciate that not all trainers would agree with you. Since I'm so clueless about dogs, let me give you a piece of information on business since that is my expertise. I would not run any customer-service oriented business the way you do and the way you allow your staff to. Apparently it's tough for you to take any criticism so it must be easier to dish it out. I can tell you that it's not an approach that will be fruitful or rewarding for you in any way."
Please help to shut this business down and send Lynn to be punished for all of the harm she has done to the dogs and their owners. There are other reports saying that their dogs came home injured with severed ears.
Shut her down!!!
