Super Petroleum, Inc
Extremely Rude and Difficult Female Cashier/Attendant

I stopped by the Super Petroleum on S. Union Street to purchase gas for my vehicle at around 11:30 A.M. I entered the store and handed the attendant a $50.00 bill and informed them I will be "filling up."

After I finished filling up my tank, I returned to the store to obtain my change since I had only filled up $23.00 worth of gas. The female attendant handed me my change of $27.00 in the form of one twenty dollar bill, one five dollar bill, and two one dollar bills. At this point I asked to purchase a $2.00 lottery scratch ticket and handed her back the two one dollar bills from my change. This was when I noticed that a large corner of the $20.00 bill was missing and asked her if she could change the bill for me. She responded that the register was closed already and she couldn't open it again. I, then told her that I wished to buy $2.00 worth of Mega Millions lottery tickets with the aforementioned twenty dollar bill. Her response to this was, "the lottery machine is down." Although there was no sign signifying any malfunction of the machine, I decided to purchase another $2.00 scratch ticket just to make things easier. She informed me that she cannot sell me a $2.00 ticket if I am paying with a $20.00 bill, so I told her I would take a $5.00 scratch ticket instead. She still insisted that she cannot sell me the scratch ticket unless I buy $20.00 worth of lottery scratch tickets.

At this point, another customer came to make a purchase with a $20.00 bill for gas and the female attendant was forced to open the register for the transaction. I asked again for her to change the bill for me, now that she had the register open, yet she refused, insisting that the bill was legally still good, but I asked her why, then, wouldn't she take the bill back if it was good. She continued to refuse and repeated that the bill was legally good and she cannot take it back. I wanted to exchange the bill because they are often harder to use when it is damaged like that and it was becoming very frustrating.

Exasperated, I then asked her if I could purchase candy with the $20.00 bill. She agreed to sell me a box of tic-tacs I picked up. There was no price indication for the candy and she didn't give me a price/total amount. She simply took my $20.00 bill and opened up the register to give me my change. She proceeded to collect all the pennies from her drawer and counted out two piles of 50 cents worth of pennies that she placed on the counter. She then took out a ten, a five, and 2 one dollar bills and gave them to me as well.

At this point I was pretty aggravated so I asked to buy a second candy with the pennies she had placed on the counter. Her response was she did not want to take them back. I was tired of this nonsense at this point and began collecting the pennies. As if the situation were not absurd enough, it was more humiliating for me because I do not have full use of my left hand due to a stroke I had suffered and it was extremely difficult to try and grasp and hold onto all the change since it kept falling out of my hands and I would have to bend down to attempt to pick them up. It was then that the attendant informed me that I could purchase another candy to which I responded "no way, my friend" because the situation had become ridiculous. She retorted with "I am not your friend."

I finally managed to gather up the change and put it in my pockets and left the store. However, I left feeling angry and humiliated because there was absolutely no reason for everything that took place in here. I felt she was bullying me due to my appearance (I am Chinese and the stroke had left me much more frail than I used to be).

Before leaving, I asked the female attendant for her name but she refused to give it to me and when I returned home I called to see if I could speak to a manager. I was informed that the managers do not stay in the stores and she would not give me the name of manager.

I believe some action has to take place with regards to this attendant as her behavior was absolutely not professional and I was insulted.
