Faith Family Church

If any of you are have noticed pretty much out of no where this "mega church" in Shiloh, IL has sprung up out of no where called Faith Family Church. The leader of this WOF (Word of Faith) movement is a Evangelist named Robert Tilton, opps I mean RICK HUFTON. Hufton has a history of being exposed for his money-grubbing ministry.

His latest incarnation is a budget infomercial during offering that touts the idea of an exchange of money for faith. He asks the people (targetted at the jobless, hopeless, and/or elderly, imho... Pretty much black people) to give him as much money as they can "scrape from the bottom of their meal barrel, " and in exchange he will bless them, fixing the problem they are trying to deal with.

It saddens me to think that anyone would be so desperate and blind as to believe a man like this. From his spouting of bible verses, his wifes fake word from the lord to the mailings he sends, his whole campaign is a psychological scam to convice people that he holds the answer to whatever ails them. He openly states that people usually send him $1,000 or more and in return, they usually get the "money they needed to pay their bills or buy food" and numerous other claims. This is to give people the false idea that there is a precedence set that they should live up to, or risk not getting the reward they desperately seek. Even on some of the mailings he has sent, specific phrases are used to try and trick people into sending more than they could possibly afford.

In this day and age, our country is flooded with the idea that to make money, one must take money from others. This is a selfish concept, born of insecurities and poor morals that has the potential to destroy one person, for the benefit of another. To watch someone do this using the concepts of religion, faith, and God, only shows to me someone trying to realize the most efficient scam around. He only has to pay for plays, a cheap 800-number service, voice mail, mailings, and a few people he pays off to give 'testimonials.' In return he claims to get anywhere from $500 to $10,000 or more, which goes to what? The what is easy. His monetary benefit. He paid about six figs for his home in fairview heights. Look it up, you'll find pictures of it on the web.

I know posting on a scam forum probably won't make any difference, but I'm determined to start somewhere, in hopes that someone considering giving even $1 might get a second opinion first.

If you feel that the only answer in your life is faith, have faith in yourself, not a man living off the misery of others.

Mark my words Hufton: You will join the "elite" group of scammers, Benny Hinn, Robert Tilton, Joyce Meyer, Jeff Perry, as those who will be taken OUT!

If you don't believe me, thats fine. Seeing is believing. I would recommend everyone check out their services. 8:00,9:30 and 11:00, every Sunday. Bring a stopwatch and time how long they spend on offering, douping gulliable souls of of money. What pastor (s) have football diamonds of how much the church brings in in money? Oh yea, when you go, one of the "feature attractions" will be "Marjies, word from the lord." You can't miss it. It's the same word for every service.
