Today 16 december at 13:30 at a parking place called Parkkade in the centre of Rotterdam near the Erasmus bridge. A car stops beside me and a man lowers his window and asks me for the way to the airport. I step out of the car and start a conversation.
The man who claims to be an Italian salesman from Milan Italy shows me a businesscard from Giacomo Valenti a clothhing brand. He says that he was on a fashion exhibition and has to go to the Airport of Rotterdam to catch a plane to Milan and will give me clothing for free because these are all samples and it is a problem to bring these all back to Italy because he has to pay taxes. He shows me very nice jackets and shirts and says you can all have this but you must pay for one suit and you get the rest for free. The price of the suit in the brochure of Giacomo Valenti is 1200 Euro and I can have everything for 600 Euro. I said that I have not that much cash and he told me give me what you can miss then, and he asks me to go with him to a cash dispenser.
But in the meantime I felt this could not be true and told him that we had no deal because I can't and won't miss any money for clothing which i not necessary need. The man who was undisputely clothed in suit and about 40 years old and 1.65 m tall, thin hair and glasses had a (faked) Italian Accent left dissapointed and clearly did not succed in his mission.
When I looked at the internet this night I found out that this is a trick which is applied worldwide and now has come to the Netherlands. Giacomo Valenti is an existing company (check on the internet) with quality clothing and is miss used by this man.
I think that this man has watched me coming out of a restaurant in my business suite stepping in to my Italian Car (Alfa Romeo) and tried to rip me off.
So if anyone offers you something which seems to good to be true don't trust it than and leave.
