I have been a commerce bank merchant account holder for four years without incident untill this past year. I own a business and deposit everyday. My branch got a new manager this year. (sara) All the sudden i was receiving these uncollected fund fees at 37 dollars a pop. When i investigated, i found that commerce had started clearing their checks at midnight and depositing my checks at 7am. Here's the deal. They hold my deposited checks for 48 hours, then they are deposited to my account. I have no problem with this policy. This has beeen their m.O. For years. What i take issue with was they used to deposit and debit accounts at 7am everyday. All the sudden they were debiting checks at midnight, and then issuing deposits at 7am. Example, If i had deposited 1000.00 in checks on dec 1st, these funds would be available at 7am on dec 3rd. What commerce bank started to do to collect revenues, or as i like to say (skimming from their depositors accounts) was seperating debited checks at midnight, on dec 3rd, (saying the funds were not available) i get charged 37.00 per item. One week i had 370.00 taken from my account for this, then magically seven hours later the funds are available, minus the uncollected funds fees. What a blantant rip off. I contacted the branch manager, (sara) and she told me she was not in the business of refunding any monies for this policy. I then called her rdm (brad garfinckle) and left phone message after phone message, never to get a return call. Great customer service commerce, is this what you mean by the wow experience? Wow, i cant believe i bank here. Wow, i cant beleive you can get away with stealinging your depositors money. Wow, isnt this skimming from accounts? Wow, isnt this against fbc guidelines? Consumers beware.
