I went on career builder.com to find a job in pr or fashion. What I found was IS-G. Their information on career builder stated that they were looking for assistant managers, or people to work in the fashion and cosmetics field. I applied. I was thrilled when I got a call back the very next day asking me to come in for an interview, which I agreed to, happily.
I should have known something was up when I walked into there very small "office" with replicas of every well known sports team throughout the tri-state area splattered on their wall. What is says in the confirmation email they will send you if you apply to this job is that you are going to be meeting with Paul Wyatt (the director and I think founder of the company yet to this day I am still not sure). Who you will meet with is a assistant director a woman named Cathy, or a man named Simon. They will act like this is some hard ass job to get that takes a harvard degree, and make you think that you want, no wait, you need this job. You will wait for a call back and if they liked you, which fifty percent chance they probaly wont, you will get a call back to come in on your second interview. Thats where you should get out.
Let me sum up the rest. They will tell you that this a managment program where you start as a distributor and work you way up to become a director where Paul will invest 5000 grand in setting you up anywhere in the world you want to go and open up your own marketing and advertising company. They will tell you how you can complete the program in as little as 5 months and that once you do you WILL BE a millionaire, or at least close to it.
What YOU WILL do is take a product they give you, whether it be sports tickets to go see the yankees, nets, or knicks, or for the ladies they will give spa packages or city cruise line tickets, or sell some bullshit makeup by Victoria Jackson and go OUTSIDE (rain, snow, sleet) and sell BUSINESS TO BUSINESS trying to get rid of these "package deals" for 40 bucks or more, where you make 12 dollars of that and the company keeps the rest.
Oh but wait first you need to make it thru training which is 50 bucks a day for 3-5 days where you are working 12 hour days. Yes you must be in by 7:30am to "practice your pitch" or what your going to say to people to scam them out of their money for some shit they dont need especially in the hard economic times, and than stand (your not allowed to sit) while Paul the head hancho talks about how this is the best company to be with and basically brain wash you into thinking if you cant make it with this scam company than go back to horrible corporate america where you will sit your fat lazy ass down at a desk for a mezzaly 40 grand a year and work your 9-5 hours. He will preach how this will be the only place to make it thru this crazy recession we are going thru and that if you leave his office you probaly wont succeed. And believe me he has many people brainwashed there.
So a warning to you all, unless your good at freezing your a* off in the winter and are good at sales and really are shamless than this is the job for you, its called IS-G, and dont worry just apply on careerbuilder, you wont have to find them, they will find you.
