Chris Hatch, Citywide Marketing
Lied to me about everything

Citywide Marketing was the poorest excuse for a business I had ever seen. The company basically works like this:
(1) Promise EVERYONE a salary of $500 a week for the first two weeks
(2) During the first two weeks, management will hype you up with bogus advancement stories and teach you ridiculous solliciting strategies
(3) Once they cut your check in half on the third week, they figure they have gotten as many leads as possible out of you and they no longer care about you because they are already hyping someone else up for the next two weeks.
(4) If you complain, Chris Hatch (the head manager) will always say "Don't worry about it" or "We think you are ready to move into commission, given that you have done so well on salary".

I worked here for a month and I realized quite a few unethical practices around the office within the first week. First of all there is no such thing as training. Management makes it seem that they are training you with a number of "strategies" but they only do that so that the other half of the management team can go out a smoke weed and cigarettes in their parked cars outside. Once all the managers get together (REEKING OF VARIOUS TYPES OF SMOKE) they send out all the newly hired employees out to Home Depots through out the city. Then they give you a hard time about gas money even though the job description says nothing about driving people around the city all day. Within the second week I was hearinf stories about management stealing leads from newly hired employees and one girl was getting sexual harrassed and warned to report if it continued. One manager ran over an elderly women in the parking lot one night and he had no license, don't ask me why he isn't jail. They also fail to mention that when you are hired, you have to use your own cell phone to call in the appointments. So now you show up to a job that says: "salary based marketing position. Can earn from $27-58K a year." and before you know it, you're driving your own car to home depot and getting paid based on every person you convince to talk on your cell phone to make an "appointment". I already decided that the fourth week was going to be my last when I saw that one girl was getting over $800 a week in leads and when it was time for her to recieve the money that she worked so hard for, management said that they "lost some of her leads" so they could only give her $500. I didn't believe it for a second and neither should anyone else. This company is obviously not going to be around for much longer but it baffles me to think that there are companies out there that downright lie to people about what a position entails and then use you to generate money for them. If your managers are Chris, Roberto, Will, Steve, Eugene and Ahbinov, I would seriously reconsider where you are in life and where you want to be in the future because if you want to be used for your hard work only to be broke and miserable, then CITYWIDE MARKETING IS PERFECT FOR YOU!
