I'm an airman in the usaf, i drove my truck from north texas to hot training in glendale. While i was in phoenix the engine popped and left me stranded on the 101 loop, i was able to drive back to the base where the mechanic told me it would be 2 weeks before he could fix it. So i looked in the phone book and found discount's number. I called told them what happened.
They told me it was probably a head gasket and that it would cost 700 it would be done in a couple days. They called me the next day and told me that the block was cracked, the number six piston was in 2, and the same cylinder was gouged, so i needed a engine, toltal 1800. I said that was fine they wanted me to come in to deposit money for the engine. Two days later they called back and said they needed another 1380, i told them i couldn't afford but another 1000 so they said they would take 400 off. Then they told me they needed another deposit for 1000. So i went in and told them that this 1000 was all i had they said ok. 3 days later i called to find out the progress on my truck they told just a couple more things and i could pick it up same day it would just cost 2300, i said o i only owe 300 they said no 2300. So to replace my engine went from 1800 to 4300. I told them i couldn't afford that and i was heading to salt lake city in 2 days. They said i don't know what to tell you. So i went got my belongings and gave them the title to sell the truck, i haven't heard from them since.
