My husband was looking to purchase a used car and signed up with bargain network. He was charged $1.95 for the materials to be shipped to our home. Bargain network stated he would be signed up for a trial membership with two companies (money edge and another) for discount coupons. They told him after 30 days our account would be charged for the services. My husband called prior to 30 days and cancelled with both membership companies. Six months later we realized we had been charged for $19.80 7 times from our debit card. My bank gave me a phone number for this company... Money edge. I was unable to speak with anyone. I did however find out they marketed through a company called encore marketing. I researched online and found their contact info. The operator told me that my husband did call but only cancelled one membership... Not true. She told me she would only refund me for 3 of the debits. I threatened to file a complaint with the federal consumer protection agency and she then stated she would refund all 7! We'll see if it happens!
