The 1st time I noticed a charge from these companies was in September 08 when I received my 1st statement from a newly opened credit card account. Actually there were other unauthorized charges which I will address in another report. Although the amount was only $1.00 each, I knew nothing had been charged to this card except for a balance transfer and 1 authorized non-internet charge.
Therefore I attempted to call Easy Saver and American Leisure but the phone numbers given were bogus. I then contacted the credit card company who did remove the charges.
Then on October 29 another charge in the amount of $16.95 showed upfrom Easy Saver. I started to research the company and learned that they are a part of EMI Encore Marketing International and upon further research learned that my credit card company was one of their clients. The credit card company is Chase. I have read all of the other complaints on this website but no one ever mentioned which credit card they were using.
It is interesting to note that when I called the credit card company today to protest the charge I mentioned that I had learned that Chase was tied up with EMI and wanted to know what was going on. They immediately connected me to Easy Saver.
Easy Saver could not locate me in their system and asked for my credit card number which at this point in time I declined to give them. I will look into this a bit further and file complaints with the AG's office and possibly with a Federal Agency.
