Make sure to get everything in writing. The Regional Vice President at the time (I think his name was Cortez or something) told me that they would pay the 2 months rent on office and home if I started an office outside the state of Ohio. I spent about a $1,000 making a trip to Charlotte, NC to find a good office space to rent. After returning, I told the RVP that is where I was going to go. He then changed what he told me and said they will only pay my expenses if I move to an office they wanted me to move too. They told me I would have to move from Ohio, to Tampa, FL. I decided to go through with it and said I would go.
I found a place before I went down there and asked the company put down the money they had promised. The RVP told me that I would have to get down there before they would put up the money. I agreed thinking the company would back their promise. I arrived in Tampa and then asked for the money again. They told me I would have to get that office back up and running before they would pay for anything. I got it up and running and then the President told me that they would have never promised that and he wouldn't honor anything.
I ran the office for a while until I decided to shut it down because I didn't want to help a company like that expand and get more people involved. Its a bad deal in every aspect because they aren't true to their word. Feel free to call me with any questions. 760-xxx-xxxx (REDACTED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES)
