We have seen our share of Slum lords since we did a military transfer last year. We Won in court yesterday, judgement in our favor for moving into an aparment that already has residence living in it (mice).
In the interim we were looking for a house to rent and spent an entire day following an agent around that was showing properties in the area. We decided to put in applications for 3 properties we had in mind.
We were looking in the price range of 1000-1250 a month in rent. Considering we were already paying 1020 to live with mice in an apt. We didn't mind speding the extra dough to have a house.
We filled out the aps. And gave consent to have 30 dollars a person debited from our checking account.
I get all (3) credit reports, Trans union, Equifax, experian, on a monthly basis and have for the past year with a service that I have signed up for, so I know our credit is A-OK,
My husbands is perfect, mine has a couple hospital bills, but those aren't supposed to be taken in to consideration when granting credit or in a application to rent. I gave them a copy of the recent credit report from equifax just to be nice, and save them some time. Still saying Hey charge me 60 bones but heres a recent credt report. It says they process aps in 2-3 business days. I got a call 4 days later from a woman named Tina asking me if we wanted her to run our applications "OR NOT" She was very rude... She told me since I gave them a copy of a credit report she wasn't sure if We wanted her to process the apps... Ummm hello! Didn't we sign the credit check fee application form!!!
I get a call the following monday 7 days after we put in the aps and Tina tells me we have been denied cause we have more the 20% bad credit. HUH???
She said she pulled Trans Union Credit file, which I already have and a recent one to boot. I asked her what she was looking at that made her come to her decision, she had no answer.
We just received a 5K loan from Navy Federal Credit Union and we bought a New truck w / an interest pmt. Of 7%. Sorry but ppl w / neg credit aren't getting bank loans or low interest anything!
They charged 12.50 to pull Trans union Credit reports per person, when they are only 8.00 they charged, 12.50 to process it, and 5.00 to check refs (employment, rental etc.) No one called refs or verified employment, we would have known considering 17 years in the military ya know if someone calls your Boss or not...
Needless to say the next day Tuesday we were pre-qualified and then approved for a conventional 103% financed NO MONEY DOWN home loan because of our high credit rating, and excellent payment history.
So now we are looking for a home to buy, and have seen the same house's for rent that we looked at still for rent and its 2 months later. When we do buy our home I will remember Home Pointe and note NEVER to call them to manage jack.
I want to rent the property not find the credit pope and his family to move in.
What a ripoff I believe Tina should have her credit report looked at and find out if she qualifies to have a job running others apps. I bet you she will be denied!
Hey I think you owe us some money, a whole 10 bucks, should I wait for the check in the mail. I would aslo like my equifax report back, iclude the check with the credit report.
