I like others have received a letter stating I had won 125,000.00 and included a check for $4875.00 to deposit into my account. The letterhead (not centered and on cheap paper) is from a company named Universal Rewards & Trust, International Claims Department located in Toronto, Canada. Bryan McDonald is listed as President; Steve Collins is listed as the claims/disbursement manager. Cash the check and live LARGE! Yeah Right!
Residing in New York, all of my life, we are aware that if it is too good to be true, it usually is not. I am a trained and certified investigator and speak to many senior citizens groups about these types of frauds. A number of the comments, that I have reviewed on your web site, the writer has either called the number listed or deposited the check. Never do either of these steps (usually the number is an off shore exchange and many people deposit the check by ATM machine bypassing a bank employee review of the check).
At this writing, many people are experiencing a financial hardship that makes these types of swindles all too common, and hopefully, my comments will assist other people seeking the correct course of action.
