When i contacted Security Moving and Storage, they told me i would get 15 boxes for free in with my price, which i never received. They gave me one price then switched it to another once they got my stuff on the truck. They also told me that i had to pay for the gas from New Jersey to Dutchess Co. And back to Jersey again. That was never in the contract, but like i said before they already had my stuff on the truck.
When they tried to make me pay for the garment boxes i told the movers i was suppose to get 3 garment boxes for free. He also told me i had to pay 800.00 down when the manager Tom told me 600.00 down. The movers had me call the office but of course Tom was not in the office so i had to talk to a man named Greg who was the dispacher and he told me that Tom would have never told me that. I told him i did not come up with this number on my own and i know what Tom had told me. I told the movers that was all i had in cash and that was all they were getting.
The movers told me that my stuff would be there on Tuesday and i had to have someone sit at the house on the other end all day and my stuff never got there that day. When i tried to call of course Tom was not in and i got stuck talking to Greg again (dispacher) He yelled at me what to do when i asked him for a phone number in Florida to find out what day my stuff would get there. He hung up on me three times, and i never got any information. Of course the next day was a weekend and i couldn't get ahold of anyone. It took me four days to get a phone number in Florida and they weren't of much help either. They just kept saying they would call me back and let me know and not once did anyone call me back. They told me they would give me 24 hrs notice to when my furniture would be delivered and they they finally gave me an hours notice after two weeks of giving me the run around.
When i finally did get ahold of Tom i told him that Greg was very rude and that he should not deal with the public, Tom laughed and said they had alot of complaints about him but they could not do anything about it. I told him he would never work for me if i had a company like that.
When my stuff arrived at the house in Florida, they dropped my couch on the front lawn, and put a rip in it. Some of my other stuff came badly damaged also. One of the movers was found working out on some of the equipment in the back room of this house and found going through a bag back there also.
I will be putting in a claim for the damage to my stuff and see where that gets me. I also put in a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and i think that more people should do this.
I would never recommend this company to anyone for there moving services.
