Universal Subscription Agency Who to call about the scam

In April we were tricked into buying a subscription to a magazine. As others have reported, the young man, Chris Kenyon (or so it stated on the receipt), was trying to get a trip to Cancun through his school. He said that the purchase was tax deductible so I did not blink at the price of the magazines. I live in a suburb of Atlanta, GA. After 4 months had passed I started to question where our magazine subscription was. After calling the number on the receipt and getting a voice mail with a pause and then a hang up, we started to do some research. We found many complaints about the company.

I called the Better Business Bureau in Nevada. They have about 400 complaints filed against the company. Universal Subscription Agency has not responded to one of them. When this happens, the Better Business Bureau sends the complaint over to the Consumer Affairs Division. Consumer affairs has about 200 complaints. Unfortunately only 92 of those complaints have been resolved. Ultimately this is where I filed my complaint. (www.fyiconsumer.org). There is a simple complaint form to fill out and you are asked to send in copies of all of your paperwork (i.E. The receipt and a copy of the check if you paid by check).

I cannot say that this will get you your money back but at least you will be able to get some closure or a feeling that you were able to do something.
