Being recently laid off, (in this tough economy) I was spending hours job searching.
Then, I came across this:

-Should I email it again, or is that annoying?
-Why is there no number to check the status?
-Why do entry-level positions require 3-5 years of experience?
-Does my position at Outback count for sales experience?
-Do they mean "business professional" experience?
-Should I include that one job at the law firm?
That was professional but I quit after 2 days...
-If not, does that make me pre entry-level?
-Is "pre entry-level" even an option on the scroll down menu?
-And how much does this position that I don't qualify for pay anyway?
-Why can't they just put the salary on the ad?
-That must mean it doesn't pay much, right?
-And if they do, why is there always a huge range?
Does that mean it is commission?
-I really want to call about the compensation, but is that going to give the wrong impression?
-Doesn't matter, there is no number anyway!
Job hunting can be stressful, that's why it's best to find a career. The candidates we hire have (2) choices.
1. Start entry-level, develop a ton of transferable skills, work side by side w / quality people, and the world's leading corporations, advance to new positions, make money, and along the way figure out what you really want to be when you grow up.
2. Start entry-level, begin advancing, become a partner and never job hunt again.

Woah! That's me! I STUPIDLY thought. Pumped, I applied. It was 3:35pm
Did I find it odd that Sonia called me at 5:30pm? I should have.infact, deep down I did.
But, I'm unemployed... And the website looked amazing... And really, who doesn't want to do sports marketing!?
Sonia (if that was her real name) set up an interview for me the next day (squeezing me in).
At 12:15pm I entered the building and was immediately skeptical at the tattered and torn exterior. Why wouldn't a company that's doing so great not have a better location? Hmmm.
Upon entering the s%^th*le - I noticed the name "World Accesss Marketing" didn't appear anywhere on the building directory. Sketch point # 2.
As I walked through the building (following the ghetto paper signs) I started to think the other tenants had absconded into the night, leaving wires and other remnants of an office behind. Bizarre.
I was then reminded of my conversation with Sonia - "We just moved into a new building". OK, free pass on this one.
The office for "World Access Marketing" contained a reception area (which to my surprise was playing the unedited version of "Talledega Nights" on a flat screen TV... Vulgarity and all). I was greeted by Maria (who I have to say sounded oddly like Sonia).
I was given a sheet to fill out that asked about my hobbies, 3 credible references and my basic information.
"Paul" - also known as an ugly man in a plaid suit was running late - and would be with me soon.
Paul Malcom finally finished up his previous "interview" (with someone who looked like a made for TV actor). I was led into the shanty that I assumed to be his office.
Inside I was immediately drawn to the ridiculous decor - which Paul commented on. Paul claimed they (World Access Marketing) single-handedly marketed for the MLB, NBA, NFL etc. Etc. Etc.
Looking closely at the plaques that adorned Paul's wall — I knew this was a scam. The printing was garbage - and looking around the office I did not see ONE personal item for "Paul". The plaques could have been made by one of the trophy shops at the mall - except then they might have looked nicer.
Paul told me all about the impressive work they do here at WAM - then said the wait for WAM to represent your company was "2 1/2 years". Really? Two and a half year? Really? No.
A second and third interview was alluded to. Money was never discussed, but based on what I saw of the place - I came guarantee the pay was $9 under the table.
Paul promised to have Maria... Or was it Sonia? Call me later on — but that was one call I ignored.
This place is a COMPLETE scam & and the people who work there are trained con-artists.
