On August the 22nd of I called my landlord to let him know that the A/C was out. He said he would call Home Warranty of America (HWA) Saturday then call me to let me know how it would be fixed. He called Saturday morning to let me know the claim number and the necessary phone numbers to get in touch with the company Ace-A1 A/C Services, a licensed company #0067936 Bonded and Insured *limit $10,000 and HWA.
The Air Conditioning Company sent a person to make a diagnosis and repair if possible. He did not greet me with his name "Fred" and also asked me to lock up my dogs. I complied with his wishes and he came in and demanded the service fee. I told him that it was fine and that I have the money, just fix the air please. He got on the roof top which was a two story building and when he came down he sign the receipt and left.
Three hours later and the apartment were still not cooling down. I called the Air Conditioning service first to let them know. Their receptionist was rude "Benita". I told her about my problem and she said she would call "Fred" so he could tell me what the problem may be. "Fred" called back within 2 hours, and said that it was the compressor because he fixed the leak and added Freon. He also said that he could not get a compressor right away he would have to order it on Monday the 25th of August.
I was angry but I said okay I will wait till then. After speaking with "Fred" I called HWA to tell them what happened and they told me that it is true that they could not fix it till Monday I said "Okay so what are we supposed to do?" (HWA) They did not offer to pay for a room at a hotel. My husband, I and our two dogs were stuck in our apartment in 110 Degree weather.instead as the representative from (HWA) "Katie" told me she would call first thing Monday morning to ask the A/C Company what the pricing would be, and then call my landlord to approve the pricing of the crane.
Come Monday morning I call HWA so they wouldn't forget, around 9AM, because we could not sleep well our apartment was now at 95 Degrees. Another representative told me that Katie was about to call the A/C company to find out the pricing. She also relayed to me that she will call once she spoke with my landlord for approval.
I did not get a call; I waited till 4PM to call my landlord and then HWA. I told my landlord that HWA said they would call him for his approval, when we discussed this he let me know that he never received a phone call from "Katie". He discussed changing Home Owners with me and I said that would be wise. I called the A/C Company right away to let them know I had it with their company and I was going to report them to BBB, (Better Business Bureau). I also called HWA to let them know that what was going on was illegal, they must repair it within 48 hours, and it was now going on four days of 100 degrees weather in Las Vegas, Nevada. You would think that since we live in the desert we would have a 24 hour service to get a compressor, no that would be too pleasant, too logical.
It was a week till it would be fixed by none other than a company called Dr. Cool. Thank you Eric from Dr. Cool, for fixing my A/C Unit. Eric said that his predecessor did not repair the leak at all; you had to take apart the unit to weld the leak to fix it. "Fred did not attempt to do this.instead he claimed the unit needed a new compressor, which was false. I told HWA on Sunday the 24th of August that they should discontinue their relationship with Ace-A1 Services.
On Tuesday they agreed. I think they had already had other issues with this company.
Also HWA does not give out thier physical address.
