Dont get ripped off the same way

When i was notified that i could get a cruise for only 59 dollars per person for port fees and then only 99 dollars to upgrade to an oceanview cabin, I thought to myself that isnt a bad deal considering i was just married and this would make the perfect honeymoon. I asked several questions about the cost and i was assured that the only thing i would have to pay for on the cruise was ONLY the drinks and whatever shore excursions we chose to do. When we got to the ship to check in they stated they either wanted a credit card or 100 dollars per person to open an onboard cash account. We chose to place a debit card on file and we specifically told that the card WOULD NOT be charged until the final day of the cruise. We then boarded a ship that appeared to be in worse shape then the S. S Minnow. I however tried to overlook the situation being as it was my honeymoon. My wife and I decided to sign up for the glassbottom boat tour and the hotel excursion. The next morning we got ready to leave for the tours and as we got off they swiped our cards and stated we could not leave and had to report to the pursers lounge. When we got there and spoke with the rep... Who was very rude... Stated that they tried to get pre approval on the card and that is was declined. You cant preapprove a debit card... I told the rep that we had no other card and that the card was not supposed to be charged until the day we left the boat... The rep then took our onboard charge cards and cut them before we had a chance to give her any money... Took the excursion tickets and stated we couldnt leave the boat. I went and pulled money from the atm. Which charges an 8 dollar fee. And then gave them 140 to open a cash account... The next morning we received a bill stating we still owe a total of 42.02. Being as we only had a few drinks i couldnt see how everything totalled 182.02.. I went to pay for the final bill and the same rude rep stated we dont pay with debit cards must be cash only. Im furious by this time. I again went to the atm which charged me again and went back to pay. When i got back the rep said oh you dont have to pay with cash now we got the charge card to work. I asked for an invoice and they refused to give me one. When i got back home i checked my bank account and noticed there was a charge for 200 dollars on my account. They were only supposed to charge 42.02 because i found out that it wasnt exactly a free trip, we had to pay 20 per person gratuities and 30 per person in fuel charges. These charges were not mentioned. I have tried to contact accounting to get the charges reversed and still continue to deal with rude people. And as i read other reports where people have the same issues and the employees rebuttal by down talking customers and making fun of their intelligence is in my opinion a poor way to handle business. If you cant have employees who take more pride in their job and want to be hateful and rude then you might as well not even run a business. I highly recommend that you avoid any cruise that has the name regal empress OR imperial majesty listed in the name
