Greater Air Of Michigan

Have you ever looked at a job posting in the news paper that says: Customer service, $15.00 dollars and hour, paid training and benefits? Well if you have you know what i'm talking about. I answered that same ad, in the Oakland press. I called and set up an interview.

When I went to my interview I walked into a room with blaring music, chairs set up in a row and full of about 20 people. I was handed an application of employment and I filled it out. A woman named Shannon, walked into the room and asked how every body was feeling. She then explained what the job was about.

Now, the ad said the job was for customer service. Shannon told every one in the room that this position was not a sales job that they are not Kirby and they don't go door to door. She also said that the training was paid; profit sharing and full health benefits were involved.

This is how the jobs work: Each "stop" you make you will earn $15.00 and an extra $5.00 for gas, so that's where the hourly pay is involved. Each stop is "ONLY" one hour long and they will not send you more than 20 minutes away from the office and you have to make 15 stops a week. All the stops are made through the office, called "office appointments." You are not required to get your own leads or make your own appointments. They will do it for you. Sounds good so far right? Each machine or "system" that you sell you will make $100.00. You must sell 3 per week, minimum.

Also after 3 months, your profit sharing will increase from $100.00 to $300.00. That's what is said in training. This company claims that you will make a "crap ton of money" by selling there product. Now remember... This is not a "sales" position.

I and about 10 other people were asked to come back and enter training. On the first day there were about 10 people, the next day there was 8 people left, then 6 people and finally 5 people on the last day. There were two gentlemen at the first day that had teeth that were not so glamorous... Well they were not asked to come back, we were told it was because of there appearance.

During training, which lasts 3 days, the Trainer, Shannon shows you how to sell the product, how it works, why it works and constantly yells, "How is every body doing to day?" and the trainees yell back "Super fantastic" (office lingo) and then she'll say, "What do you want to make a lot of?" Trainees yell, "Money!" So, this happens like every few minutes.

On the last day of training (third day) Shannon tells the group that over the weekend we have to do practice demos. It was required for every one to complete ten by the following Tuesday morning. First Shannon said if you complete ten by Tuesday you will receive $100.00. Then before we left for the day, Shannon said, if EVERYONE does ten by Tuesday morning Shannon would hand every one $100.00 cash. Well there were 5 people in my group and only 2; I and another girl completed all ten, so no one received $100.00. Now, if every one completes there ten the profit sharing amount will change from $100.00 to $300.00. So, every "system" you sell you will earn $300.00.

Over the practice weekend you could "sell" a majestic 360 or a Defender 360. If you sold one you would receive $200.00, if you sold 2 you would receive $250.00, if you sold 3 you would receive $300.00 and a GPS or Digital camera with a printer. If you sold 4 you would receive a Defender, if you sold 5 you would receive a Majestic 360. If you sold 6,7, 8, or 9 you would get $500.00 per sale and if you sold 10 you would receive $1000.00. Sounds too good to be true.

Over my practice weekend I sold zero.in training they tell you 8 out of 10 people by there product. Well, that must not be true. Every person that I showed this product to could have paid cash for it, but the person on the phone pushes a hard sell and forces the buyer to make a snap decision.

Now, these machines cost $899.99 for the Defender 360 and $2450.00 for a majestic 360. If you buy both your looking at about $3349.99 Plus tax. If you're smart, you're going to think about spending $3,000.00 on a product you have only seen for an hour. You're going to want to sleep on it. But most people don't. If you don't want to pay cash, credit or check they well help you finance your "system." Also, they tell you to ask for "referrals" and that you need to get at least 20 "referrals" a day and 100 "referrals" a week.

This business works off of the "referrals" you give them, not off of office leads. Also in training they will tell you, only you will "show" your own "referrals."
That's a faults statement. My first office appointment, was someone else's "referral." And then they tell you, know no, anyone can "show" someone else's "referral."

On Tuesday, the first day of going out on office appointments, they tell me that if you don't complete 15 "shows" a week or sell 3 a week you will not get paid. They never told us this in training, when we signed a contract and paid a $30.00 "application" fee.

Shannon also told us that the appointments will be no more that 20 minutes away from the office. My first appointment was in Flint, Michigan, 45 minutes away. So, I told them you said "the appointments will be no more that 20 minutes away from the office." They said well, its only twenty more minutes. So I told them no thank you and quit!

Hopefully I was able to share my experience with you and able to provide you with some insight to what this company is about. Some people maybe able to make money off of them, but the majority get scammed!
