I have been ripped off by a shadow company named National Express! I Have No Information About Their Location

I am a retired senior citizen, who lives on a limited budget.

I have seen on TV an ad about a laptop riser/holder that would help rise the laptop to make it easier on me, to use, and reduce the strain on my neck and shoulders..

I made the order online, the ad said that it cost $19.99, I found out that I was charged $48.80 including shipping.

I tried to cancel the order the same day when I have found the charge in my bank account. At the time, the order was not processed yet or shipped.

I called the 800 number given, but a very impolite customer service rep. Refused to cancel the order, and my bank told me that since the charge entered my account, all I can do, is to return the item, get from the post office a tracking number, and send it to my bank, then wait for 30 days, if the company does not return my money, then they will try to dispute the purchase.

I returned the item to the company (paid another $17.00 from my pocket), and the company still is refusing to give me back my money.

I might end up losing a total of almost $70.00 and end up with nothing.

I would like to know from anyone who knows the law, how can people like me get their rightful money back from criminals like this company, and how to protect ourselves in the future.

I appreciate your useful suggestions and information.
