Our 35 year old mom, wife and child has biopsy-Dr. Goes on vacation-allows his office nurse to be in charge and write prescriptions - mom, wife and child dies from overdose

Misty McConnico, 35 years old a mother, wife and daughter died from prescriptions given to her and written by the doctors nurse. Misty went in on
Good Friday, 4,6-07 for a lung biopsy. A Dr Howell was the surgeon. He did the precedure and left on vacation, never talking with any of the family about the results. None of the family has ever spoken to Dr. Howell. He put his nurse Lori Kemper in charge. None of the family ever spoke with her. The nurse Lori Kemper wrote all the scripts on the doctors pad. The pharmacy would not fill some of them because according to them a doctors nurse does not have authority to write this particular class of drug.
The procedure Misty had should have been a 3 day stay. Misty was in 8 days.
She was so drugged up that she barely knew her own name. The family had to ask the hospital to stop giving her so much pain medication. The family ask to speak to the doctor but they refused to call him as he was on vacation and although his nurse Lori Kemper was in charge we never spoke to her. Misty was so drugged that she would call people up and they would call the family concerned. She was slurring her words, talking and saying things that made no sense. The family believes that had Dr. Howell been there to observe she might be alive.
She went home on 4-13-07 and died the next day from the drugs given by Dr. Howells nurse Lori Kemper. So beware of dr howell and nurse lori kemper and surgical specialists of oklahoma.
