On 6/29/08, I received, by email from Leapfrog Systems, (yet addressed to the child of the friend for whom I purchased the system..) a notice that due to what they were calling a "systems error" I would be charged $5.07 for a purchase I had made SEVEN months prior. I had not received, in any form, previous notification of this alledged "systems error." Apparently it was for sales tax which was added to my online order, but not actually charged.
When I emailed a response indicating how appalled I was at the customer service-or lack thereof - (honestly, how hard is it to notify customers of an investigation of a "sytem error"?) and general disregard toward customers, the responses were the same: The "system" made a mistake, but hey, we're going to overlook the fact that you're not a happy customer and charge you anyway.
Yes, it was only $5.07, but how many others were affected by this same, said "system error"? That could add up to a hefty chunk o' change.
This time, it lost them a customer.
