In my opinion, Chase Carey, and his band of criminals pretending to be business leaders at DirecTV should be arrested and jailed for ripping off their own customers. It does not surprise me that they have had a racketeering suit brought against them.
These bandits not only charged me rental on a receiver I purchased from Best Buy, but then tried to say I did not return it and sent me a bill for $200. I actually sent it back because it has no value to anyone when it doesn't work. The next bill was for $400 plus and then I received two boxes (no explanation) with another bill for $900. The government needs to stop these jackals, as they have no respect for their customers or anyone else. The Internet is full of websites that are full of complaints against the bandits at DirecTV.
I sent 2 emails requesting a detailed itemized list of what the charges were for and also the serial numbers and tracking numbers assigned to me for the equipment I was supposed to return. They were both ignored. I found that they do not open the returned equipment boxes, but instead just go by the tracking numbers. They indiscriminately bill the customer and the customer must send the tracking number to prove they sent DirecTV's crap back. I have had 4 receivers go bad. If you ask for a tracking number, they give you one that has not been used. Quite frankly with Digital TV and Free Air receivers, we do to need DirecTV.
I bought a Vu Qube portable satellite antenna at Roadtrucker.com and it picks up free satellite signals just fine. And a radio shack antenna on the roof picks up the digital channels and everyone is crystal clear. Screw you Chase Carey and DirecTV.
