In early September, someone called me and invited me to a business orientation. I believe they got my contact info from job search websites like Monster.com, where I posted my resume on the Internet. 2 Days later, I went to their office at 8700 W. Bryn Mawr and Joseph Rupert gave the orientation.

On 9/25/02, Glen Smith called me and scheduled me an interview with Christopher Price on 9/26/02 at their 211 E. Ontario office. On 9/26/02, I went to see Christopher Price and he literally presented me a job offer together with written descriptions about the job and the training process. He said he had to collect $450 from me and said I would get the money back upon completion of the paid training program ($14/hr), which will last usually 30 days or less. And he said I would meet Mark Warren, the Vice President, after I completed the paid training program to discuss my starting salary and employee benefits, and offer me a formal written job offer.

I did doubt about the up-front fee but he said it is to prevent candidates from dropping out in the middle of the training program. And he assured me that by giving me the training package, which is of certain value, the company literally hired me already. So I signed a contract paid the $450 at the site by credit card.

According to my bank statement, Receiver Corporation took out the $450 from my bank account on 9/30/02.

After receiving the training package, I finished the first part of the training in 10 days, and requested a test and asked for the study materials for the second part according to their instructions. From this time on, the only way to get a hold with them is by email to their Training Team. They said they usually response to emails in 24 to 72 hours and its going to take 3 days to send me the stuff but it finally took them 4 weeks to do that.

During that 3 weeks, of course I was so disappointed and unsatisfied so I tried to make tons of calls to any number they gave me and send the Training Team lots of email. The Training Team replied by email several times keep asking me to be patience. And I did receive one and only one call from Christopher Price. However, he told me that he didnt work for Receiver Corporation anymore but not to worry because I wont be affected by the fact that he left the company. He asked me to be patience and the only thing I should do is to keep contact with the Training Team and they will help me finish the training program ASAP.

So after a month or so, I finally received the study materials for the second part of the training program. And, it's already more than 40 days since I received the training package from Christopher Price on 9/26/02.

So I finished the second part in 1 week and asked for a test. I finished the test and sent it back, and ask the Training Team if this is the end of the training program. They replied by saying that I have to go through another step that they called the final step.

In the final step, my job is to make cold calls-tons of cold calls-to set appointments to give a 45mins FREE presentation. They said once I have set an appointment, email them and they will assign an Account Executive to me, and he/she will do the presentation to the client. Also I have to attend each presentation and take notes and learn how to do the presentation. But, the problem is, after the presentation, the Account Executive will ask the client if they would like to pay $2500 for a 25-day analysis. If the client want to do it, we will come back after 25 days to show them the analysis and the reports. And at that point, the Account Executive will ask the client whether they would like to pay an additional $2500 for keeping the software. And all I have to do in this final step is to set enough appointments to let the Account Executive sells 3 pieces of the software!!! This is ridiculous!!!

I realized that this is not only ridiculous, but also is impossible for someone to finish a training program like this in 30 days or even less. I am so pissed and so doubted about this final step, and Receiver Corporation per se, so I sent them lots of emails. And up to this point, they are so reluctant to reply my emails. I also tried to call them, but many of those numbers are disconnected, and those working numbers always asked me to leave a message but they never reply.

Even I managed to set appointments and asked them to assign me an Account Executive for the presentation, they didnt even reply. They just kept ignoring me.

So I went to all their office addresses that I have been to and only to find that they are no longer there!!! And I went to the place according to the sender address where they sent me the study materials; its not even an office. Its just a local store renting out post boxes to businesses and individuals.

I tried to seek help and more information from Better Business Bureau and Department of Labor, and they both recommended me to get help from the Attorney General.

This is why Im filing a complaint there and I believe they are my last resort.

Another thing that bothers me a lot is that according to BBB and Department of Labor, it seems that there have been a lot of complaints against Receiver Corporation, and they have been doing this for quite a while already. I believe they are still doing it today. Being not the only victim in this employment scam, I truly hope the Attorney General can take some serious action to get our money back and to bring this business fraud to an end.

I didn't realize this is an employment scam until lately. I saw the CBS2 news on TV and this website that they talked about on the news so I'm here now. I found several reports had already been filed here and that means I'm not the only one who fell into this scam. I was fighting this alone and I really don't know what else I should do.

I would be most appreciated if someone can lend me a helping hand and give me some advice. Please send a rebuttal.
