I were moving from Philadephia, PA to Clarksville, TN as my husband was stationed in Fort Campbell, KY. I had sold my home in PA and were scheduled to close on Monday, August 23. Therefore, as per my conversation with Brinks Transports on Friday, August 20, they had promised to be at my home on Saturday, August 21 at 10:00 A.M. I had put 300 down and my charge was 2100.00 to be paid upon pick up of the items.
After 10:00 A.M. Came and went, I called Brinks with no answer. About 12 noon, I get a call from a subcontractor that Brinks had requested to do the move. According to the, they would not be here until Monday as they had some issue whereby they could not bring their truck around my neighborhood as the cops were not allowing them to come thru. Bull! I continued to call Brinks and was unable to reach them. Funny, they don't work Saturdays or had no number to reach them just in case something went wront. I called the number of the movers that were suppose to come and they finally stated that their not showing up was not their problem as my contract was with Brinks and not them. And that was it. I was completely left without movers to take our furniture and to be able to move all things out by closing on Monday. I was hysterical! My husband was in TN and I was left on the lurch to now try to find a solution this problem.
Fortunately, after calling around to so many movers - most were all booked with jobs to do, which was understandable. No many moving companies are available in such short notice. However, one mover, Tony from Millenium Movers, called me back. After hearing my situation, he gave me a number to file a complaint. He also said he would see what he could do. He called me back in less than an hour to assure me that he would be able to do the job but will not be able to be here until Sunday, August 22. I was so thankful that someone had come thru for me. I thanked him over and over again. True to his word, he and his workers showed up and were able to move us.
Finally on Monday, after my closing took place, I was able to reach Brinks and spoke with "Jessica." No one had bothered to call me back. They extended their apologies and basically that was it. Someone by the name of "Oren", with a heavy accent, also tried to give me the same lame excuse. Basically all I got was that they "were sorry" and that they will be able to refund my 300.00 back. Then they proceeded to give me an explanation that the truck had been in an accident near my home. (That was not what their subcontractor stated to me.) When I asked to see a copy of the police report, she stated she could not legally provide me with a copy. When I stated I would just ask one of my friend who was a Philadephia Police Officer to obtain a copy for me, that is when she got upset and threatened not to send the money to me. What a joke! I mean they truly believe they could get away with this. They did return the money. I asked my friend who was a police officer to see if there was a filing of an accident report of a moving truck in the district where I lived - no such report was taken. I filed a report with the BBB and I don't remember the site that was given to me, but I filed it again.
I will never forget the feeling of helplessness I felt at moment. The emotional turmoil they made me go thru was indescribable. Never, ever use Brinks Transport or any of the other companies they are affiliated with. These guys are scammers and rip offs and not legit. Please be aware of BRINKS TRANSPORTS! Save yourselves the trouble and frustration.
