We booked in late April - early May to have a charity container taken to Guatemala. Early concerns about non-performance were met with emails saying all was fine. Two weeks before pickup date, I insisted they confirm a pickup time. Then I realized they hadn't even started the booking. The boat filled up the next morning and we missed the boat.
I had tried to get them to book in May, but they are still insisting 2 weeks is too early. Other companies suggest a month in advance, in order to guarantee a sailing date. Guess Janel doesn't have a clue about steamship cargo limits.
In reading their emails, they could not keep track of their promised and assurances, so there were many contradictions: we boked 2 months ago, we are booking now, we can't book because the ship is full.
I felt they were responsible for finding a way to fulfill their contract and absorb additional costs involved. They dropped the contract, refusing to clean up their mess and accept responsibility.
I am booked on a non-refundable flight and volunteers are arriving to use the donated equipment.
For Janel, a contract has no meaning. Beware!
