Ocwan - Capital One Auto Two great rip off companies

My husband was involved in an accident on 9/29/07 that still has him hospitalized. My car was totalled in the accident. It had been financed through Capital One Auto, I had insurance on it as well as coverage for accident and disability and Gap insurance. My insurance called me and asked me to call Capital One Auto because Capital One was completely unwilling to be of any help to them. Finally after approximately 3 months they were able to get the information they needed and they paid what they had said the car was valued at which left a deficiency balance. Capital one also received a refund for the guarantee on the paint on the car, the refund for the insurance for the death and accident insurance, the refund for the warantee, AND a refund for the gap insurance. They also received a payment from the gap insurance company AND a refund on the premium for the balance of the Gap insurance that still have 3 1/2 years on it. This stretched out for at the very least 8 months until Capital One received every penny the money hungry people could get. They had offered many, many times to settle the claim for about half of what they ended up actually getting paid. After all was said and done and with all these refunds (one of which was for over $ they STILL claimed there was a deficiency balance of $1900. I don't know how that could be and they have never sent paper work to prove it. Now is whtn the Ocwen company came out, they now claim that after all this I still owe them just under $3500. I don't know about any one else but a figure jumping from $1900 to $3500 does not seem to be right to me. Nothing was ever sent to ma saying what this additional $1600 was for just that I needed to pay it. Wat a rip off! I ended up with no car, a husband who is still hospitalized and who may never walk again, Capital One ended up with every penny I would have paid had I paid the entire loan off including 4 years of interest that was still outstanding and then they sold the account to Ocwan who prompty doubled what Capital One claimed I owed them and I think that was wrong anyway. I'll never figure out why the Gap insurance people benefitted from me paying insurance premiums for coverage if one of us were disabled or any of the insurance for that matter. I just really feel that both companies have taken a tragedy in my life to line their pockets and line them well!
