I worked for Edge Marketing and the Sales Manager, Art Pierard, was a total quack and a merciless and senile sadist. He would get all weepy and homo-erotic when he talked about his former employer, "Allied Electronics" to us. He didn't care about sales and let a female employee, with contagious and infectious Tuberculosis (from crack-whoring on Main Street), "Linda", miss over three weeks, in excessive absenteeism, but if a guy missed one day due to inclement weather, or anything, illness, car trouble, etc. He would fire your butt. He fired one guy just for being a smoker, period. He fired another because his vehicle flooded in the storms. And Art would brag about Allied Electronics, where he'd been a junior executive and was, in all honest reality, purged from the corporation when his buddies got couped by the new leadership. He doesn't give any second or third chances, so "be careful" when, or if, you interview with him. Or if you're stupid enough to take a job from him at Edge Marketing selling electrician's parts over the phone off of Main Street, in Houston, Texas. Art has an extremely volatile temper just under the surface. He will go off on you if you get upset about something. Edge Marketing, they don't love you, and they don't give a crap about you. Just remember that. The sales force is seen as the bottom suckers of the "marketing/electricians harrassing" branch of the company. Art must be getting something, besides just sales quota, from "Linda"."Vern" is the only white salesman Art hasn't fired yet. Or maybe he has already. Who knows? If you want to, go ahead and work there. Just be ready to hear all of Art's Don Quioxte like war stories about having worked at Allied with the "big wigs." It gives him a woodie and he starts getting all weepy and drooling. Just don't puke or he'll fire you.
