My Response:
I responded with a phone call to Monica Ball this morning to set up a preliminary interview. Right away, I was thinking to myself, "Preliminary interview?" I've never heard an interview called that before. I have applied to many positions over the last few months and frankly cannot remember specifically which positions at which companys I have applied for. When I asked Ms. Ball, "Specifically, what position is this that I will be interviewing for?" She responded that the interviewer would be going over all of that information with me tomorrow, thus evading my question. I then point blank asked, "Is this a sales postion, cold calling businesses for promotional space?" She would not answer the question. I was born at night, but it wasn't last night. I certainly don't want to waste my time or your time if this is a "Cattle Call" for comissioned reps to cold call your marketing program.
When I asked who I would be interviewing with Ms. Ball then responded with, "Mr. Terrell will be our interviewer tomorrow." The letter states, "One on one" (which is fishy, what else would an interview be?), and then by not referring to Mr. Terrell as the "Directing Manager" I finally was fully awakened to the scam. Hey, you have an impressive website, and you can probably deceive most job hungry individuals to respond to this letter. Nice try, not me. I've seen enough smoke in mirrors in my day to be aware of how you operate. Please remove me from your list of people to be interviewed tomorrow. Boy, what some companies won't go through to decieve people. What's the game? Why don't you just be upfront with people and tell them straight up what the game is? You should be ashamed of your deceitful business practices.
