In Jackson Hewitt made a gross error in taxes, and wouldn't you know, it was the same year they did away with the Gold Guarantee that protects tax payers from their inadequacies. For this year alone, our amount that we owe because of an audit, which when other preparers look at is can plainly see their error, is costing us over $2000.00.
For still not sure what this one will cost us, and for at least $800.00. I can't believe there are companies out there that will blatantly make an extreme error such as claiming we own a company vehicle, when we didn't own it the previous year, and still worked for the same company. For they claimed me as Head of Household, when I have never ever filed that way, always injured spouse. Of which I am. We had another one of their preparers look at it after getting notification of the audit, and they found the error right away, plain as day.
I can't believe that they aren't responsible for something they obviously did, and was even told by the auditor that they have been having many problems with their company. Not showing up for the meetings that they set, trying to back their way out of paying for their obvious and extreme errors, can a company really operate like this legally?
