Cashed a check for 19.95p ensuring i would recieve 9.000 pounds in cash Canada

I have recieved a number of letters from this company ensuring that i would recieve $9.000 cheque, as i have never heard of the company i sent off a cheque for 19.95. Within two weeks of sending the payment the company had cashed it in after checking my bank statements, i have not recieved the cash payment and am very upset. I would like to add that after doing so i have recieved other letters offering the same thing but with different amounts of money. So i presume that my address and name has been passed on to other companies by this one.
