Don't get fooled by Michael English's company. He manages on intimidation, offers low salaries, writes you up if you come in more than 10 minutes late, and works you to un acceptable hours. The worst part is the affair that he has in the office, and if you aren't friends with his mistress (who receives unfair promotions) then you can forget advancing in the company. You have to play their game, but you won't be able to stomach it.
The turnover rate is extreme - they will try to justify it by saying they hire a lot of people out of college - but it's really because employees quickly become very unhappy. Your every move is watched and micromanaged. Don't think about leaving at 4:59 instead of 5:00 unless you want to hear about it the next day. Don't leave at 5:00 if you want to get anywhere in the company.
You thought games were over in high school? Not if you work at Horizon Engineering. English likes to pin employees against each other, enjoys controversy in the office, and wants his employees to be scared of him. Unfortunately, his business partner hasn't put a stop to it and therefore is just as guilty.
