On August 7 two individuals knocked on my door in Virgina Beach, Virginia. When I opened the door there was a man and women standing there, both in their younger 20's. They seemed close to my age and easy to speak to.
They explained that they were selling magazine subscriptions. For each subscriptions sold they recieved "points" and after so many points they will win a trip to Cancun.
The girl was super friendly and went on to make jokes on how she will send me a postcard when she gets there. The boy was pretty quiet the entire time. They both came into my house and sat down.
I felt obligated to buy something at this point so I choose two subscriptions to order. My total came to $75. I had to write two seperate checks (one for her and one for him) so they both could recieve the points.
The girl then gave me a little piece of paper that read "BUG OFF." She instructed me to tape it on my door because there were other people competing to sell the same thing. She stated that no one else can come to my door with the "BUG OFF" paper on my door.
Then the girl had me fill out a commet card type thing on her professionalism. I filled it out (giving them good comments only) and said goodbye.
It has been exactly two months since that date and still no magazine. I decided to check for the company on internet and that is when I (to my surprise) found this website.
