Rick Cover is a con man. He is personable, seems to be acting in your best interests then robs you blind. This man is the worst kind of con man because he really beleives his own lies, and he never feels that he has done anything wrong. He acts like a dedicated family man, appears to be professional, and is always kidding around. He feels no remorse for taking your money and leaving you with nothing. As a matter of fact, he will act very offended if you question him about his ethics or where your money is. Rick Cover Jr has stolen from his own friends and family members and never looks back.
He left a wake of numerous sub contractors and employees unpaid, swindled us out of money by never completing a job, but always asking for more money with urgency as if we did not give him money for deposits the job would suffer due to our error not his. This guy is a serious threat. He is very skilled at "pretending" to work so you will cut him another check, but not actually ever getting anything done to completion. There's always an excuse with this guy and he plays one person off another to get what he wants.
Rick Cover / Cover Construction & Remodeling took everything we have... Money, time, our home, and our security. This man took our existing home and made it so we cannot live in it - he took our money to rebuild and never went back. We are without a home to live in going on almost a year, and he took all of our money so finishing it to a livable state is near impossible. We will be working for the next 20 years to pay off the loan that Rick Cover stole from us. We have been in contact with other homeowners who have also endured this fate with Rick Cover. There are many more out there.
To date, we are aware of more than 5 major home remodeling and construction jobs that he has left incomplete when paid in advance. Rick Cover just walks off the job with all of your money. If you give the guy a check he runs straight to the check cashing window - never deposits into his bank account, then the money disappears. He has written tons of checks on a closed bank account to "pay" his suppliers and sub contractors.
Beware - Rick Cover often refers to a job that he had on HGTV's "Spice Up My Kitchen" show. It was a short stint on the show prior to the producers and staff figuring out that Rick Cover was a problem. Rick was fired from that job but he continues to act and represent that he is still employed by the show to con people out of their money. Rick often shows catalogs stating that he was the kicthen designer and drops names of well known people to secure your trust. This man is a con man through and through - Do NOT give him a dime... As a matter of fact... RUN if he even suggests that he will do work for you. "Work" is something Rick Cover does NOT do.
Rick Cover Jr. Has been to jail on fraud charges in the past 24 months for a daycare scam and fraud. He's back in "business" as a fraudulent home contractor.
