I just realized that I have been charged $14.95 a month for six months on my credit card for a Todays Escapes membership which I did not authorize. A Todays Escapes "advisor' said I authorized the membership when I ordered a GT Xpress 101 grill from an automated telephone system after watching a TV infomercial.
I told their "advisor" that I did not accept the membership offer when the automated system asked me if I wanted a free 30 day membership. I know better than to fall for that scam. They said I accepted a $50 Walmart gift card and that meant I wanted the free membership. I informed the advisor that I did not accept the gift card and that I did not receive the Walmart gift card or any membership material from Todays Escapes.
I cancelled the membership and was transferred to a supervisor. I requested to hear the automated tape that said I did accept the gift card. The supervisor said that it would take two to three weeks. I gave them my telephone number, and the supervisor said they would call me when they had the tape. The supervisor said that the would only be able to recover two months membership fees.
I have requested a dispute form as you recommended. My credit card company said they would stop charging my card and would return the Todays Escapes charges.
