I was fooled!!! At first I thought to myself this has to be too good to be true, and most of the time it is, but then my friend on myspace sent me a comment saying how easy it was for her to get her giftcard, I thought maybe I'll give it a try. This was before I knew about the whole scam.
So I gave it a try and it was a Pain in the butt to do all those offers. To get the free $500 Macy's giftcard you had to do: 2 silver, 2 gold, and 4 platinum, which I did, and thank goodness I didn't apply for any credit cards or anything. I strictly kept to the free trial products, and trial offers, but I did have to pay like $50 in total for all the S & H, which you don't get refunded.
I did all offers in one day, and it took a week until all the offers said Complete, and then I printed out the certificate that you are supposed to send in with a filled out I-9 which had my SSN on it. I thought at this point it has to be legitimate if I have to fill out this form, and claim it on my taxes. WELL I was so WRONG!!! But I'm getting ahead of myself.
So I sent the form in and it took two weeks to process in which I got the e-mail from them saying my thing had been processed and it would take 6-8 more weeks to get my gift. Well that was 11/14, and it's been 8 weeks and still no gift card. So I go onto google and I look up free $500 macy's giftcard and I see warnings from Macy's themselves and also a whole bunch from myspace and usacomplaints.com, and I was SHOCKED!!!
The one time I actually do one of these things it turns out to be a scam, and worse is they have all my info name, address, phone #, e-mail, SSN and a few other things I had to fill out to get it. I read how this is a PHISHING scam to get people's info and then the company sells it to other people. IDENTITY THEFT is on the rise, and now my info including the most important SSN is floating out there and who knows who will see that info.
Now I'm mad and I have one thing to say to that company: I will NOT take this lying down, I'm gonna fight this, and I hope they get caught. The sad truth is they can cancel this name and just start over with another company name too. This is a huge problem on myspace DON'T PAY ATTENTION to the ads on myspace!!! People hack into your account and send them out without you knowing!!!
Don't be their next victim, if an ad is too good to be true then it probably is, a good rule of thumb. Let all your family and friends know that this company is a con and not to do their offer!!! The more people you tell the better, get the word out.
As for me, I'm going to fight this until I get what I was promised which was the $500 giftcard. You have tried to con the wrong person, and I will keep fighting until victory is served!!! This company gives empty promises, and they make money off of every ad that you do, they are nothing but con artists, thieves if you will, and who knows what happens to your personal info.
