Dont use Capital One by any means. They screwed up my balance transfer. They sent payment to the wrong address of the other company and as a result payment was not made to the other respective company. For fear of being late or delinquent I Then had to make payment immediately to the other company because Capital One dropped the ball. Not only did they put me on hold several times, the hold times were at least 10-20 minutes each.
During these hold times they were not able to rectify the situation. They basically told me "Too bad". I had no choice but to cancel the transaction (balance transfer) the customer service rep. Told me they would stop payment on the check they sent to the wrong address; but in order to correct and complete the balance transfer I would have to start from scratch and wait at least 10 business days. That wouldn't work since I had to make immediate payment to the other company so I cancelled the balance transfer.
When I received a statement from Capital One it indicated an inflated balance indicating that they still had the balance transfer amount on there. When I called customer service, naturally, they had me on hold for at least 20 minutes. They finally indicated my new deflated balance but with the same minimum payment amount. When I asked for the new minimum payment amount the "Account Specialist" told me the minimum payment still remains the same. She also said that the minimum payment is 3% of the total balance. The last time I did my math 80 dollars is not 3% of $425. I made this clear to the "Account Specialist" She told me that I am still liable for a minimum payment of $80 despite their screwup of the balance transfer.
Admittedly, I did swear at the "Account Specialist" when she told me this, but you can understand my frustration. She proceeded by hanging up the phone on me.
Do not use Capital One by any means. They obviously are imcompetent, unorganized, and unable to satisfy customer needs!!!
