Dear Sir,
My name is Larry and I am a former Assistant Manager of store #38 (Valencia & Midvale). I would like to share the reasons why I left.
Back in mid June of this year, I was sitting down with Steve Bila discussing what I had to do in order to move up to Operations Manager.
In no uncertain terms Steve said he discussed the situation with Penny McArthur and felt it was in the stores best interest to keep me as Assistant Manager because of my Epilepsy. I told him loudly so everyone can hear you cannot do that, that's discrimination. At that point, I felt betrayed, hurt, and immediately started looking for another job. I was hired by another company August 1, but told them I could not start right away because I had to give Pizza Hut 2 weeks notice.
August 1, I called Pat McKinney and told him what went on between Steve and I. He said I don't know what went on, I wasn't there. But I'll have Penny look into it when she gets back from vacation.
August 8, Steve Bila comes down to store #38, sees me and asks me to sit down and talk to him. During this conversation, he says I was mistaken about our previous conversation, that he didn't say anything wrong, and how much money would it take to get me to stay. (I just wanted to see what he'd say), so I said how about $12 / hr. (My previous rate was $8.65 / hr. Which I had just received). Steve said that's a little too much, I know I can definitely do $10 / hr. I said, no I want at least $11 / hr. Steve said he would call me the next day.
As soon as Steve left the store I called Pat and left a message on his machine, Steve was just here at store #38 and he tried to bribe me — what the hell is going on!!! Why hasn't their been an investigation???
Fast forward to today 8/28/02. I have left the company 2 weeks ago. Nobody has contacted me from Pizza Hut, and no investigation has been done. Is Pizza Hut of Arizona in the habit of sweeping things under the rug? Will their be an investigation? Or will I have to take legal action for you to do anything? Brent, nobody wants to investigate this because they know their in the wrong. Please contact me ASAP.
Ps - i have witnesses who are willing to testify!!!
