I was given cusotdy of two of my older children because they had become to hard to handle. This wasnt the first time she had sent my oldest son to live with me or any other relative willing to accept him. For two years she moved to three different states to follow her mother. Finally settling in arizona. We spoke and i sent money on regular basis after relocating myself. Shortly after my son arrived I was served with papers for child support. I responded with every request given. I appeared in court they had an order that was set up for my father & step mother for temporary guardianship for my children when there mother decided to leave our home in search of love via internet.
My father was in his sixties and well past the child rearing years yet he rose to the occassion. After a year and a half period my ex & I were given custody back. Where she had a one bedroom apartment & I was living with my new partner in a extended stay hotel due to my $1700.00 plus support order coupled with the the loss of my job, it's amazing what a garnishment of that size can do to one's employmentsituation. My x said her mother would purchase a house if she could move out of state. BIG MISTAKE!!! Apparently she had been collecting afdc & telling them she could not locate me. She was able to collect money grams no problem. I was earning only portion of that of my previous job, but i sent money as i was able.
I relocated to ca. Secured employment and sent monies every payday i was able 2005.
I now have custody of two of my 6 kids my ex has had baby #7, does not work (well if craig's lists counts she works hard.) my order was adjusted from the order that ca des set up when my parents had my kids, which was quite high based on my earnings as the rates of pay differ from cal. To nevada. Now ca. Was acting for the state of Arizona, I complied to all requests they innitiated a garnishment of $1400.00 I was making 10.50 per hr. I was acruing arrearages of almost 900.00 a month plus the added interest. I applied for a reduction and the amount was reduced to 900.00. Per San Bernardino my arrearages were little so i agreed.
I then got a letter from AZ. Stating I owed this collection agency 94.000 for my back child support. As i was told they come across a old order and calculate from day one to present time at 1700.00 a month plus interest. It seems to be a common practice for AZ. So i am told, it just a thing AZ. Does regularly. When i objected to the amount and requested the info to validate their claim, two days later i got another letter stating " our records indicate you owe at least 104.000, I thought WOW! Ten grand, just for disagreeing. And demanding payment in full to boot!!!
welcome to my nightmare. I now cant provide for my two children & have to seek food stamps to feed them. We were evacuated due to wildfires.
I was temporarily laid off due to wildfires. Three days to christmas my true love gave to me a lien on my bank account. When I contact my bank they said they were debiting 100.00 from my account which had no money for them to take. Yet now i'm left with no recource because its a holiday weekend. THANK YOU Arizona for making my childrens holidays.
