I received a letter stating that "through this letter that our network system shows you as the lucky winner of an unclaimed prize of $70,000. Our system indicates that you were drawn as a winner on December 3".
"All participants were selected through a computer ballot system drawn from Readers Digest Publishers Clearing House, Comuter Games, and Sweepstakes Databases from Australia, New Zealand, Europe, North and South America, part of an International Promotions Program (IPP), which is conducted annually. CONGRATULATIONS"
"It is our duty to inform you of the existence of International Law guiding the fair personal collection of cash prizes"...
THe letter states that "your funds are now deposited with us and insured under your name".
The letter states that they have enclosed a check for $3,400 and to call their claims agent with the reference number noted in the letter and to take advantage of this opportunity today!
When I called Kevin Bell at 819-580-2327, it was definately a residence. He sounded as if he just woke up! Also, he was not well spoken. He stated that I should cash the check and then give him a call back. Then he would tell me where to send the "processing fee" and that upon receipt, they would send my winnings.
I did a reverse search on the address and phone number - it is a residential apartment building.
Additionally, I called a friend of mine who legitimately does unclaimed governmental searches, and she said that the funny thing in the letter is it didn't say how he gets paid?
I will be tearing up this letter and check! Please do the same if/when you receive.
