A company that trains people to solicit

This company is full of total BS! I went to the first interview, which was really quick and hardly any questions were asked about my experience. At the interview I was told that they were interviewing a lot of people that day, and they were deciding that evening who would be coming back for a second interview. That evening I was called and told that they interviewed about 20 people that day and only 5 were chosen for a second interview. Obviously at the time I was totally excited, but looking back I know that was a LIE. Now I'm pretty confident that they called most people back.

For my second interview, I was told that I needed to clear a full day (9-5:30 they told me) so I could ride along with someone who works there. After my first interview I still wasn't sure exactly what the company did, so I wasn't sure what my day was going to consist of. I was paired with someone named Darcy who was supposedly going to evaluate me at the end of our day. We went to some random outside shopping center.

I still had no idea what we were going to do all day. She told me we were doing a direct marketing campaign for Victoria Jackson makeup, so we were going to try to sell this supposedly expensive makeup for very cheap to people in the area in order to promote Victoria Jackson.

Basically, in other words, we walked from store to store and solicited anyone we saw... Customers, employees, random people in the parking lot... It was insane. When I tell you we were walking up the highway from store to store, walking into any door of any building. I AM NOT EXAGGERATING! The whole time, I had to basically run to keep up with Darcy and she was questioning me the whole time. At this time, I still thought this was a legitimate job.

During the day, Darcy explained to me that 3w had a 4 step training program that took about a year and ended in you opening your own branch. This all sounded great, but I couldn't get a straight answer about what they actually did. Whenever I asked, the answer always included how you will learn to train and interview people to sell this stuff. I assumed that the company created different marketing plans for their client, so I asked Darcy how much creative freedom you have in creating these plans during your training. She seems to not understand the question, as her answer included "ummm well we have freedom to decorate our own office anyway we want." I should have known right then to leave, but I didn't. I went back to the office (an hour later than they told me on the phone), took this stupid test, and was offered the job on the spot.

The way they really get you is by completely flattering you. They make it seem like it is so competitive to get these jobs and their are so few of them... Lie. I feel pretty confident that almost everyone is offered the job. Basically if you work here, you are a professional solicitor working to teach others how to solicit... Pathetic. I have to admit though, they are very good at luring you in. Thank god I came to my senses!
