Wanting to Verify Bank Info

I started receiving calls from 270-717-8274/Kentucky this morning. I finally answered one tonight. I was told basically everything everyone else here is saying. They needed to verify my information. I was told once I verified my bank info, that they would give me a reference number and phone number to call customer service to cancel their service and not be charged $375 or something like that.

First I told her I never ordered their service. She just ignored me. Then I told her I didn't feel comfortable giving her my information. She kept repeating the above, asking me what bank I was with, etc. I didn't answer any of it. She did have my address. I told her I was going into a meeting and to call me back at 8:30pm. She asked if that was EST. I said yes. (Duh, she has my address which is in the EST zone.) She said "That's in 10 minutes", which it wasn't. I was talking to her at 7:20. I just played dumb and said "Oh, 9:30 then". (She had some kind of accent, so I'm thinking either she can't tell time or she's in the time zone ahead of me.) OH MY - they are calling me again right now. It's 8:42.

I've checked my accounts - no activity, but I did go ahead and report them. Debating whether or not to pick up the next time they call and ask the person if they realize what kind of company they work for..!
